We will look at face acne treatment products a little more in-depth.
Acne is troubling. It's incredibly annoying and nothing kills your self esteem like a big fat zit messing up your pretty face. Anyone who has struggled with acne knows what an awful time it is. Now there are a few general things you should know about acne before you know exactly what you're fixing.
Simply put your skin problems are your pores getting clogged up with dirt, or make-up and sometimes eating greasy food too often can then cause bacteria to stay in and you get a little blemish. Some people say eating too much chocolate can cause you to break out but others say the anti-oxidants in chocolate can actually help prevent acne.
Generally there are 3 types of acne face products:
* Preventive and general acne face products
* Over-the-counter acne skin care products
* On-prescription acne products.
The first kind are general products that you would use everyday and probably would be in your daily routine. Things such as cleansers and make-up removers and other similar products. Sometimes these products are that which will prevent the build of oil that clogs your pores. Other general products are exfoliation products that remove dead skin cells preventing the build up of oil and dirt.
Then there are specialized acne face products that are available over-the-counter without needing a prescription. Things like vanishing creams which actually extract the oil from the skin are among these products. Products like these are basically benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid based. These two are the natural enemy of the bacteria that causes acne. You should start with a product that has a lower concentration of benzyol to see exactly how your skin responds to it. Everyone has different skin therefor will each react differently to it, 5% is a good concentration to start with. Alpha-hydroxy-acid based lotions are also a popular acne treatment.
On-prescription acne face products are ones that are specifically prescribed by dermatologists. These products can include a number of treatments. Anything from a ton of topical treatments like creams, gels and ointments that are applied directly to the affected area to oral antibiotic to fix the problem from the inside. In some extreme cases dermatologists can even suggest minor surgical procedures to help the infected area.
You might have to try a few, before you zero-in on the acne skin care product that is effective for you. There are also many natural ways to treat and prevent acne, like diet and exercise. If nothing seems to work, you should contact a dermatologist.
